Earlier this month, ChapmanCG was hosted by Nissan Motor Corporation’s global HR team in Tokyo where we discussed global HR trends and challenges.
During this session we covered many of the issues which we expect will capture the attention of HR leaders around the world in 2018. There was a focus on the pressures facing CHROs around performance and how critical it has become for this role to demonstrate business impact, effectively partner with the business and be true visionaries on the future of talent. CEOs are increasingly looking broadly for CHRO hires who are from outside their industry and outside of the HR profession. The demand for top CHRO talent continues with big name/HR superstars needing a track record of business results.
Across the regions, we discussed growing trends around Total Rewards, with the specialty getting more prominent and with better pay to reflect this. We're also seeing HR Operations roles coming to the fore and driving greater efficiencies.
Thank you to Anish Baijal, Alex Marteu and the rest of Nissan Motor Corporation’s global HR team for hosting us. It was great to tour your beautiful showroom and discuss all things HR and we look forward to returning soon.
