Mentorship is known as an effective tool for career development and growth. Mentoring with the right balance of trust, encouragement, and honesty is also a rewarding experience for both mentor and mentee. Many of us already invertedly mentor people around our workplace, but there needs to be a proper structure in place to facilitate the process to encourage participation and employee growth.
Mayumi Cox, CEO and Founder of Team Next, aims to develop and train HR talent in Japan to adapt to a global HR framework. In this Conversation with HR Leaders, Senior Director Simon Elsom and Mayumi discuss the importance of mentoring for personal development, why expected outcomes need to be clear from the onset of the relationship, and why she has decided to offer a mentoring program specifically for HR professionals for free.
